A trek between history and nature, where the ruins of Noto Antica meet the wild green of the Valle del Carosello. Ancient tanneries carved into the rock, spectacular waterfalls and a suspended pond await you in an amazing and out of time path. An adventure between past and dream landscapes.
The Carosello Valley, located on the slopes of Mount Alveria, is located in the heart of Noto Antica, the medieval city that was tragically destroyed by the earthquake of 1693. This fascinating place, also known as the "Medieval Pompei", is the starting point of one of our most suggestive trekking excursions. You will begin your journey right through the ruins of Noto Antica, a journey back in time to discover the hidden beauty of the Valley of Carosello.
The peculiarity of this valley is its unique transition between two environments: on the one hand, the history and the ruins of a lost civilization, on the other, the wild and uncontaminated nature that grows lush among the rocks. The Valle del Carosello is a fascinating place precisely for this contrast, where the past meets nature in a perfect and surprising fusion.
Along the way, you will explore the ancient tanneries of skins of Arab origin, created within prehistoric caves, witnesses of a history that has its roots in the past centuries. And as you walk, you will be immersed in an environment that changes continuously, from the most arid and rocky to a subtropical corner that develops along the river Asinaro.
The river Asinaro, which flows through the valley, feeds small waterfalls and enchanting lakes, creating a magical and regenerating atmosphere. But the highlight of this excursion comes when you reach the hanging pond, accompanied by the spectacular waterfall that dives from a height of over 30 meters. It is here that the valley ends, with a breathtaking view that will make this excursion a unique and
Unforgettable.
