There is a Sicily that smells not of salt but of moss, wet land and wood. It is that of the Nebrodi, the green heart of the island, where the paths are lost among endless woods, hidden lakes and mountains that look to the sea from above. This is where we bring those who really want to discover another face of Sicily: quieter, more authentic, more surprising.
The Nebrodi Mountains form the largest protected natural area in Sicily. A vast landscape, wild and full of contrasts, alternating panoramic ridges, monumental beech forests, hidden waterfalls, deep gorges and traditional villages. Here, for decades, we have been walking, exploring and building trekking experiences that combine nature and culture in a perfect balance.
The Nebrodes lend themselves to long and deep journeys.
We propose walking on several days that cross the park horizontally or vertically:
• From Floresta to Mistrettaalong endless ridges and woods;
• From Cesarò to Longi, passing through spectacular natural landscapes and villages full of stories, flavors and ancient traditions.
Walking here means entering another Sicily, made of silence, unspoiled nature and encounters with people who still keep a deep bond with the territory. A trip like this does not easily forget. In fact, it often changes the way you look at this island forever.
Our excursions develop in a day or on several days, touching the most iconic places but also the least known, accessible only with the slow and curious step of the hiker.
Among the goals we propose:
• Mount Soro, highest peak of the Nebrodi, from which we start for trekking "freeride" among the oldest woods of the park, going to the discovery of monumental trees and the highest natural lakes of Sicily, such as the Biviere and the Maulazzo.
• The Rocks of Crasto, with their spectacular shapes and 360° view to the Aeolian: a place where sky, rock and sea merge into an unforgettable panorama.
• Catafurco Falls, reachable by a trekking surrounded by green valleys and pastures, perfect for a day in the middle of the most alive nature.
• The Threshold Gorges, between rock walls carved from water and profiles carved from time, ideal for those looking for a more adventurous experience.
• The magical Tassita WoodAlso known as Bosco delle Fate, near Capizzi: a place out of time, with rare trees and a fairytale atmosphere.
